The World's Largest Gold Mine


Financeroll - PT Freeport Indonesia in Papua listed in Thompson Ruters and Metals Economics Group as the world's largest gold mine in terms of area and production per year.

The value of its gold reserves alone are estimated at $ 423.9 trillion. This value is obtained by calculating the
price of gold from London spot market during the last 3 years is $ 1.023 per troy ounce, equivalent Rp296.670 per gram at the time the dollar was dilevel Rp8.990 per dollar dollars (2011).

Exploitation contracts owned Freeport mine in Papua in 2021 ended in a second-generation contract in 1991. Freeport has the right to extend the 10-year contract two times until the year 2041.
